[Music] hi I'm Dr Vishnu Aran consulted nephologist at manipal hospital Whitefield hi I'm drasna consultant medicine manipal hospital Whitefield so today we will have some discussion about kidney and its health and we'll discuss some general points about the kidney so my first uh question to you is actually the U are very common in general public especially females so what is your advice to females regarding UTI and how what would be its effect impact on the health of females yeah so recurrent U are pretty common and women go through a lot about this uh uh and recurrent U can have a very harmful effect on the body and they have can lead to various complications as well so what happen it can affect the kidneys as well the rec UT the infection can Ascend till the kidneys and some sometimes lead to the scarring of the kidneys it can have a sometime people end up in having chronic inflammation of the blood which caus chronic pelvic pain syndromes or discomfort all the time uh certain kind of urinary bugs can increase thisk of kidney stones as well it can spread to the blood cause sepsis and serious complication especially in the elderly and the people who have a weak immune system and the most important is that it affect the quality of life I have to go through recurrent investigation treatment so I would advise people uh whenever they go through symptoms and they suspect urin infection they should they should meet their healthcare provider and they should get it thoroughly evaluated and treated completely what precautions can the general public can take to avoid this urin retracting infections um most important is hydration that having less water intake is very much predisposed to having a Rec and UTI especially in women second is a hygiene that is very important and third is if they're having underlying comorbidities they are having any diabetes or any other immunity suppression drugs they are taking they should keep it a regular checkup for that overall it's a big problem Rec yes sometimes untreatable actually there is a general consensus that nsid is cause lot of damage uh to person's individual health and especially to kidneys what is your opinion on uh this one and also what public should not do so that they don't get into this situation yeah so and painkillers or the NSS which we call it is they are quite helpful to treat pain and the fever situation but when uh in a dose and the duration advised by the doctors but when people start to misuse them and the overuse them especially the over over the counter available drugs like roofin aoxin uh overuse of them they affect the blood supply to the kidneys and then can if it's not treated on time can permanently Scar the kidneys and cause chronic kidney disease as well so I would advise people uh to take painkillers as an advice by the doctor not misuse them not to overuse them keep yourself positive and go for main course means what I'm saying is stick to the main main advice don't find some shortcuts lot of deviations are there in the community so stick to the main course treatment and you will have good luck with that thank you [Music]
