Namaste I'm Dr Monica Gupta consultant OBGYN at manipal hospital baneshwar so first of all I would like to wish everybody a happy International women's day which is celebrated on 8th of March every year and the theme for this year is accelerate action so what is actually accelerate action it is that whatever we are doing all our activities to achieve gender equality if the rate of progress is the same which is going on it will take another four to five generations to achieve gender gender equality so this year theme aims to accelerate those uh efforts and stress and activities whichever are performed to achieve women equality at a greater rate so that we achieve the gender equality which is the main motto of international women's day at a faster rate than what it is being expected from today's growth so uh let us also discuss about uh what all uh steps we can take to improve the physical and mental well-being of working woman as we know today more than half of the wom population is working maybe from small laborers to women who are sitting in big companies to doctors engineers and Pilots we find women every everywhere in the field so it is very important because women are responsible for a number of other things apart from their professional life they also have to look after their personal life they also have to look after their family their children their in-laws and their parents so it is very important that women know how to also take care of themselves and physical and mental health of woman is very very important because because if women can address their physical and mental health uh well-being properly then only they can perform the different roles that are given to them so these are some tips for working working women how to improve your physical and mental well-being so most important it it is for uh working women to uh because definitely you are working you will have a lot of stress in your life so we emphasize that you should have effective strategies and methods to manage stress in your life and these strategies could be anything ranging from doing yogas to any relaxation activities to doing anything that you like your hobbies at least spending some time of your day or spending some hours of your week in these activities will help you manage a lot of stress in your life other thing is to build a Social Circle for females it is very important to have a very healthy Social Circle which can be your friends or which can be your relatives in whom you can confin whatever problems you are having because that is the most important way to relieve your stress out the other important thing is to be physically active and have a healthy um lifestyle which includes some degree of physical activity which could be a mild exercise or a walking every day at least 30 minutes of your day should go into some form of physical activity which will take care of your physical health and also your mental well-being stay hydrated have good amount of hydration take ample of fluids especially in summers and it has to be minimum of 10 to 15 glasses of water per day and eat a healthy food which includes fruits and juicy vegetables which will again help in your physical well-being another important tip for working woman is to have regular health screening it is very important that once in a year you have health screening which will include your dental health your other health checkups which is like a papsmear every 3 early and also your mental health screening is very important this is again very important for working woman to have a mental health screening because sometimes there are some problems which females we which as we females are not ready to accept that we are going through those difficult situations so if we have a mental health screening it is uh easy to identify what all problems you are going through and then if treatment is started early it is uh very easy to have complete cure uh last it is also important that your employer provides a good working condition for everybody who are working so that that also plays a very important role in your mental well-being thank you so much and again I wish you all a very happy International women's day
