My “FOOD” options at Saravanaa Bhavan (Popular Veg Restaurant) | Dr Pal

[Music] he's so happy look at the [Music] smile I came to Toronto for a health conference talk and uh wherever I go I try to go to SAR because I absolutely love it look at this there is this wonderful Saran South Indian vegetarian restaurant and the key point to talk about is the restaurant is over there but we have parked our car over here so the first step is park your car all the way across so that you at least burn a little bit for the amount of calories that we're going to eat all right I'm going to show you what I'm going to eat in Sara ban let's see how we can create a balanced healthy meal if ever you are going to this [Music] restaurant one more thing I want you to point out is look at that there is Woodside Cinemas they have movie theater Tamil movie theater and all the Indian movies are bring screened over there right next to it is s ban I heard that they have something called kabali combo the famous rajini movie kabali when it was released over there they gave a combo of a medu and a coffee for free all right guys one more Point look at this they're open it's a good thing and then hours is from 11:30 to 10:00 I think I have to ask them to follow my channel they can do from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. look at this s is all over the place USA Italy South Africa Saudi Arabia Malaysia Singapore Thailand Hong Kong Australia New Zealand bin Qatar oh my God and we are right there Toronto Star bro so after 30 minutes we got a table because it was so packed my friend tumar come to this vegetarian restaurant only because his wife trur sundari is a vegetarian he loves her so much that he eats on behalf of her and he comes alone so guys one important thing is I always drink one cup of water before meals I know that there has been some concept that you know if you drink water all your digestive secretions will get dissolved diluted in water so it is not that much of a quality there is no research to it there is no big proof to it maybe it is true I'm not saying it is not true but there is no research to say it is TR okay so as a gastroenterologist I will drink water before my meals actually there is proof that if you drink water it distance the stomach cell receptors so that it creates a feeling of being full which may be a good thing so that you don't have to eat the second chab Buri hello guys this is moja the sarona B manager here in Toronto and for me to read through all these ingredients and then find out how much car how much fat how much protein I don't have time for it I need to catch a flight to Sacramento so in general wherever you go you need to have at least 20 g of protein per meal okay number one number two you need a lot of fiber at least 5 to 10 G of fiber per meal because I'm a gastroenterologist if you talk to a neurologist they will say this brain is important if you talk to a gastroenterologist they going to tell you this brain is important because this is the brain that is controlling this brain to order so guys they have Vada ity Dosa and Chola borri my friend SAR has ordered Chola batura okay the big Chola batura the big Puri is going to come and I think I'm going to choose idly because I love idly idly is a super food it's it's so good for your gut my gut will love it Le because it is fermented so it will promote good gut bacteria so we're going to calculate how many grams of protein is there in that balanced meal if based on what it comes and uh in terms of uh Dosa if you really like Dosa you know you can add some more protein by adding like some pan Dosa and you might have to just figure out you know what is the total protein content in that meal if you want to choose Dosa uh so I am going to choose idly that's the number of Dosa that they giving if you're opting for a buffet apparently it is free and the guy who shooting this have already had five of it and he's asking me not to tell to you guys so my friend here absolutely loves CH batura he treats as if it is a flying saucer coming all the way from the sky falling down look at his how much he's so happy look at the smile he Kam no all he's saying is this he's very happy you see me on YouTube yeah wow what's your name uh Gia Gia wow what did you learn from the YouTube shots uh I learned to eat oh my God good job good job your friend sarum I got my plate look at this I have two beautiful looking idlies so this is slightly bigger than the average homemade idley so each ID is usually 2 g of protein but in this case maybe it is three so I have two idlies I have 6 g of protein our goal is to reach 20 and uh I have sambar lots of Dal but the amount is a little bit less so maybe I'm going to say like you know 3 g of protein so 3 + 3 + 3 9 we got nine and um Vada absolutely you need to taste Vada after coming to SAR B if not this is an insult to SAR B but the problem is I'm going to take only half of it and then I'm going to give the bigger half to my friend he will definitely get it no problem at all so I'm going to taste this as well and um there is this Curry Leaf soup you know Curry leaves are so good for your gut and I'm pretty sure that it's going to promote good gut bacteria in me but the only concern is we just have to make sure that there is not that much ghee that much oil into it little moderate amount is absolutely good so this is my plate and I'm not even going to tell what this guy has eaten but I'm going to taste is Chola Buri as well and then look at this Chola Buri and he also has Chen [Music] Masala Chen has a lot of protein as well so you know one cup of Chen has around close to 10 g of protein so what I'm going to do is this guy is going to order one more extra Chola Buri and I'm going to order one more bowl of extra CH so this guy has ordered mini idly and I asked him dude this is the main dish he says this is the appetizer this is just he's warming up his stomach so guys this Curry Leaf soup is really good it's really good it's spicy it's um it's very tasty it's very difficult to do a good tasty dish with curry leaves just with curry leaves alone so I think it's really good they have mixed with some kind of a little bit minimal flour and um I asked them specifically do you use any oil or ghee they they said they they'll use minimum ghee I don't know what the minimum is I hope it is really minimum but the taste is absolutely amazing and especially you know when you have some s throat or something this feels really good the main reason from a Gastrology standpoint is curry Leaf has I keep promoting vegetarian based diet because vegetarian diet has been shown to promote good G bacteria and Curry Leaf is not um any not inferior at all it's it that's the purpose okay the second thing I want to show is remember I told you that our protein was around 10 G so I need more Chen so I got just Chen alone so I'm pretty sure this bowl might have like 8 to 7 to 8 G uh of Chen so we're almost close there around like 20 g of protein I'm going to finish the meal with Filter coffee South Indian Chennai Madras filter coffee everybody should try no matter where you are whatever you're doing whatever problem you have okay I'm going to tell you how you can enjoy in moderation and usually filter coffee doesn't go well without sugar so I'm not against sugar at all anything in moderation is actually good so I'm have add a little bit of sugar here so this is the famous optify look at this and uh in my experience whatever you do it has to be sustainable it has to be enjoyable for example this had milk milk has protein milk has carb so which is a good food in my opinion so overall if you look at it I had around like uh you know 55 to 60 G of carbs and then you know 20 to 22 g of protein with lots of fiber given the uh idly and also some Curry Leaf soup that we had so overall I think it is it is a relatively good diet that I had and you can also enjoy the process of weight loss and you don't have to force yourself to eat salad on a daily basis so my friend sakuma which is him he's showing this look at he's saying that he wants kulfy ice cream and he's wanting me to buy this for him he already ate one chabi five Dosa in the buffet because which came for free two filter coffee and the half but that I gave him and also the remaining all the mini itly that he had and he wants the school fee I said I ate 55 to 60 G of carbs right so I am not saying don't eat this but I'm going to come for this sometime later balance mindful conscious eating he didn't like it he's going to cancel the video day record please please record the video please
