foreign [Music] [Music] foreign loving John made major hospitals foreign [Music] from rts's Kolkata recently we successfully operated on a very complicated and difficult case this lady 45 years of age came to us in a very serious condition the condition was diagnosed as a case of type aortic dissection this basically involves the aorta the main pipe which carries blood away from the heart the pipe was tone that is split in layers this condition is called an aortic dissection complicate matters the dissection not only want the ascending aorta it involved the aortic valve as well so the aortic valve was incompetent and blood which is supposed to go out of the left ventricle to the entire body it was coming back inside the left ventricle further because of the long-standing condition the heart was in a very bad shape her ejection fraction which normally for patients is around 60 to 65 percent it was around 25 percent so this patient was referred by to us so we operated on her and it was a successful operation done we replaced the entire aortic valve the ascending aota the whole of the aortic Arch and the patient was wind off of the ventilator on the second post-operative day currently she is doing well she is under a follow-up and we hope or that she remains well thank you [Music]
