[Music] namaskar Rohit KU palak K Garden alipur District [Music] [Music] the patient Mr Rohit young boy came to us with history of neck pain and progressively worsening flexion or bending of the neck uh over the last several months and it had reached a point where he was unable to move his neck at all it had got fixed in that position he was finding it extremely difficult to do his daily activities even eating had become a challenge for him do so when this CH came to to us we uh examined him and we found that he was surprisingly neurologically intact and subsequently we sent him for Imaging the CT scan showed that uh there was a dislocation between the C1 C2 uh joint and the joint was dislocated laterally which was very unusual because most of these zanto axial dislocations happen in the forward Direction in front but in this patient it had dislocated laterally on one side uh that is the right side and on the left side The Joint had got fused in that abnormal position preventing him from moving his neck up or down we operated the patient uh under uh interop neurom monitoring where we were constantly assessing his uh function of his uh nerves and the pathways which connect the brain to the spinal cord and to the nerves so the procedure was done uh under general anesthesia so post-operatively the patient did well he did not have any neuro deficits on post of day 2 the patient got discharged at the department of neurosurgery manipal Hospital Old Airport Road we have a team of neurosurgeons neuro anesthetists neuro electrophysiologists and a rehab team who have the expertise in dealing with these complex problems and uh can help patients improve their quality of life manip hospital treatment go so [Music]
