hello I'm Dr trup asaar a physiotherapy InCharge in srcc Children's Hospital managed by Nar Health physiotherapy plays a crucial role in managing cystic fibrosis the chest physiotherapy plays a crucial role in clearing their secretions on daily basis it has to be done every single day when the chest is clear at least three times in a day and when the chest is not clear there are secretions it has to be done at least four to six times in a day we have to make sure the child is fasting at least for 2 hours means maybe when the meal is done after 2 hours you can do the chest Physiotherapy and there are certain precautions which has to be taken the person who is giving chest physiotherapy should wear a mask since we are doing a demonstration here I'm not wearing a mask you should do a hand hygiene routine as usual it has has to be done every time before starting the chest physiotherapy as we all know we have two lungs and there are three parts of the lungs which I'm going to show you how to drain them so the first part is upper loopes upper portion then comes the middle portion and then comes the lower portion so I'm going to show you each part by part how to drain it with the help of gravity so first I'll begin with the posterior upper lobes so you have to make a your hands like a cup like this and then you can just do it on the nape of the shoulder like this and you should hear the hollow sound like this if you are giving a hollow sound that means it is done properly and now I'll demonstrate the anterior lobes she has to lie down I'll put a put a pillow below her knees just to relax her give her proper relaxation position and here again I'm going to do it just below the shoulders and above the nipple area this is for anterior upper loes okay now I'll do it for the right middle lobe okay for this the child should lie down in side line and I can do it here this is the area where I will be doing the clapping now for the left lingular L turn now I'll shift to the lower lobes just I have to put the below for this we need to give them slightly head low position so you need to keep a pillow below the p anterior lower yeah yeah okay so here now I'll focus more on the lower lobes anterior aspect now for the lateral lower lobe again I'll Focus here on the lower aspect of the lung laterally now for the right lateral low lower now for the posterior lower lobes I will be focusing on this area so these are the different positions which has to be given each position need to be done at least for 3 minutes until 3 minutes you go on clapping so that the secretions loen out and they are traveling towards the main broncus and then the expectoration becomes easy for the child
