now we will discuss the science behind CPR CPR has got two vital components one is chest compression the another one is rescue breaths chest compression will create a negative pressure inside the thorax so that the heart can get filled with blood and pump the blood to the vital organs chest compressions technique is we have to give 100 chest compressions in a minute and at least 5 cm depth compression has to be given so that the blood gets uh distributed to the brain as well as other vital organs this will maintain the circulation the next component is the rescue breaths so that the oxygenation of the blood can effectively occur because the lungs are not working well so once we give rescue breaths the lungs will get filled with the oxygen so that whenever the blood is pumped to the other organs they also get oxygenation also so the rescue breaths have to be given at a ratio of 30 is to2 that is 30 compressions and two rescue breads there is other component called as only handson CPR it is also quite effective only in adults and whenever we give hands on only hands only CPR we need to make sure that patient reaches the hospital immediately because it cannot sustain for more than 5 to 6 minutes so the size behind CPR is very simple we are mimicking the natural circulation of the Heart by creating pressure in the thorax so the heart gets filled up with the blood and when we give compression the heart will the blood will reach the brain and other vital organs and whenever we give rescue breaths the oxygenation also occurs this is the simple mechanism but it's a complex physiological scenario where we can save the life [Music]
