hello I'm Dr shrikanth records consultant and head of the Department of physical medicine and rehabilitation at narayana Health in Bangalore today we'd like to share the experience of a patient's treatment Mr Raju Chandra who has very kindly agreed to share his experience with us he was unfortunately Afflicted with the compression of his spinal cord and which resulted in weakness of all four Limbs and spasticity or tightness of his muscles and over time he developed tightness or contractures of his knees because of which he was unable to stand or walk and he was bed bound for a period of four years so we had to do a hamstring release surgery for him for for following which he received Rehabilitation and continued Rehabilitation at home and improved to the extent of being able to walk with a walker which he is sustaining now and he would like to share a little bit about what he went through and what is the future what expectations he has and how he's going to go about in achieving them foreign foreign foreign foreign [Music] what we have learned from this is that the right intervention at the right time meaning the surgery followed by Rehabilitation is extremely essential to improve patient outcomes and we hope that the future is better for our patient and he continues to improve on the gains that he has made thank you
