Want better heart health? Make daily exercise your 2023 goal!

the CDC tells us we have to be exercising 150 minutes a week and I will tell you I am not doing that but I have great news a study found that up to eight minutes a day of exercise is sufficient for reducing cardiovascular mortality a study in the European heart Journal followed 71 000 people with a wristwatch to see what their physical activity was and what they found was that as little as 15 minutes per week was enough to reduce mortality but the kicker is it needs to be vigorous so vigorous means it's six times your resting metabolic rate what you want to do is not be able to really easily have a conversation you're working that hard and that doesn't mean that you're actually lifting weights riding a bike it can be anything it can be taking groceries up the stairs multiple times it could be doing whatever fun activity it is that you would like to do and so I encourage everyone to get up right now and give me eight minutes of vigorous exercise and improve your heart health
