hello everybody I'm Dr Pradip Kumar consultant cardiologist at the ashur manipal hospital today I'm going to talk about an important topic which is cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR this is done to prevent brain bre and to M you know support life when a patient has a cardiac arrest or the heart stops to work when do you start CPR CPR is started when you see a unresponsive patient who is not breathing and whose pulse is not felt the minute we see this we have to call for help first and then start cardiopulmonary resuscitation cardiopulmonary resuscitation consists of giving chest compressions and rescue breaths so chest compressions have to be given at a rate of 100 to 120 per minute every 30 uh compressions rescue two rescue breaths are given and these compressions should be given continuously without lifting your hand off the chest by compressing around 5 to 6 cm it should be forceful enough but not enough to create any damage
